This gorgeous buckskin wild stallion named Bugs lives in the Sand Wash Herd Area of Colorado. Here he is walking toward the waterhole in the northern part of the herd area on a very hot summer day. He seems to appear suddenly out of the dust as he walks confidently in front of his family band.

“Water Run” by Carol Walker
This dramatic image highlighting the power and beauty of running horses was taken in southern France in the Camargue region. These beautiful white horses with flowing manes are Camargue horses, indigenous to this area. I took this image during a workshop I was leading there.
Here they run though the marsh, spraying water everywhere in the late afternoon light. I converted this image to black and white in order to increase the dramatic impact.
