“Cloud’s Pride” by Carol Walker
This is the famous wild stallion Cloud in the Pryor Mountains of Montana, who has captured the hearts of people all over the world. This is one of my favorite images of him, that shows his fire and grace and the black and white emphasizes the curve of his neck and his wild mane.
I have just returned from a trip to the Pryor Mountains and was lucky enough to spend time with him and his family in their summer home in the high meadows of the Pryor Mountains.

“Thor” by Carol Walker
This bold black and white image is of the fiercely beautiful three year old bachelor stallion Thor, who lives in the McCullough Peaks Herd Area in Wyoming. I have been photographing him since he was a small foal. Thor became a bachelor stallion this winter, when the stallions in his band made him leave his family. I visited this herd as well last week and was very happy to see Thor thriving, and playing hard with the other bachelor stallions.
