The Wildest Heart

Carol WalkerFeatured Artwork

In Wyoming’s Red Desert, wild horses roam, and in the area known as the Red Desert Complex, some of the most colorful wild horses that I have ever spent time with live with their families. One of my very favorite stallions is a stunning blue roan with a dark face, and 4 white tall stockings on his legs. His name is Blue Zeus, and he is a caring stallion who watches over his mares and foals. I have been following him for over a year now, and before my last trip, the wind knots in his mane tangled it beautifully. This image was taken in the early morning as he looks up the hill to see what is in front of his family as they move toward water. Most of the image is in black and white, but I saved the warm color of his eyes that glowed in the sun.
