Portrait of a Wild Pinto Stallion

Carol WalkerFeatured Artwork

Every year I visit one of my favorite wild horse herd in the McCullough Peaks Herd Management Area near Cody. In 2011, a foal was born that I thought was one of the most stunningly beautiful babies I have ever seen, and he has matured into a wildly beautiful stallion that I love to visit. His name is Thor, and on this day, there was a dramatic sky in the background, and he and his mare were spending some quiet nap time with a big group of other horses. Once they moved into the open, I had a wonderful opportunity to capture some portraits of this blue-eyed pinto stallion. I thought black and white shows off his dramatic coloring.
